ITV goes viral
The decision by ITV follows the fashion of more and more large firms using viral marketing to get their message across, when previously it was the domain of smaller businesses.
As well as standard advertising methods ITV are running a game on their website that has spread the news of the show by viral methods.
The game, the Baby-O-Tronic, allows people to choose their favourite celebrities from the show and see what potential offspring would look like.
The result is not a scientific genetic profile, but a comic picture combining features from the chosen celebrities.
The game lets you email the site to a friend and so spreading the message of the programme at a relatively low cost.

ITV has also been using a series of rich media advertisements, including overlays and expandable banner, on a number of mass-market sites.
